Resolutions

So I'm noticing that I usually only blog when I'm irritated or frustrated, so my New Year's resolution is to blog more about happy things. So to kick it off here's a list of great things in my life:

1. I look great today. Good hair, cute outfit, good skin day, new shoes. If you want, call me and I'll come drive by your house so you can check me out.

2. KFH

3. Work - not normally super great, but pretty good this week. And you know, getting paid is key.

4. My friend's blogs are interesting.

Trust Fund Baby

So I used to have this friend, who shall remain nameless. This "delightful" friend sucked at being there for me and I had stopped putting energy into the friendship. I have learned that I have worth beyond measure and not everyone deserves a front row in my life. And so this person called me up recently and started asking me all about my life and then insulted me right to my face. Something about I don't understand a hard life cause I'm so rich. And I just laughed and said, Please! Show me my trust fund! I need the account number! It was funny because not only was she ignorant of my situation and making assumptions about things she didn't know about, it was ugly to see the envy and it said so much more about her than it did about me. And I was so proud of myself because I said, I really want to hang up on you right now. And then she got all apologetic, and it's not such an unforgivable thing, not nearly as bad as other things that have happened, but it's interesting how I've gotten to a place where I just won't put up with this stuff anymore. If you want to be in my life, it's advanced citizenship. I'm not taking any more crap sitting down!

PJ's at the Movies

I saw After the Sunset last night. It was fluff, but good fluff. Just the kind of movie you want to see when you are stressed out and tired. And I wore pajamas to the movies! I have to say, for all the nostalgia people have about the 50s or other previous decades, 2004 rocks for being a time when it is ok to wear PJ's to the movies.

On another note, I am going to Seattle on Thursday to visit a grad school. I had never heard of it before, and I am so curious to find out what it's like and if maybe it is an option for next fall. I told one of my friends, even if it sucks, I can leave the seminars and just bum around Seattle. I love Seattle, the rain, the city, the ferries. After being there in the summer for many years, I am excited to experience it in the winter. And then when I come back, Rockharbor will be in our new building, and that's so wonderful. Happy day...

Mawedge...Mawedge

So, everyone and their mother is getting married. I just went to Tracy and Randy's wedding last night with Kevin. And about two months ago EG and Anna got married. Yikes! Before this wedding season, I had only been to a few weddings. Joel and Shoba Spencer's, my uncle's when I was 14 and my dad's when I was 10. Someone told me last night to get ready because everyone will start getting married now. And she's probably right, because about 4 new couples were at the wedding. Why is EVERYONE dating? And where's the love for Dawn? Haha. Just kidding, actually I have had quite a full social calendar lately. Musicals, more musicals, swing dancing, salsa dancing, parties. And recently I realized I am triple-booked for Halloween night. Three invitations and I have no idea how I'm going to tackle all three in one night. Does this mean I have to have 3 different costumes?? ....Oy!
