And not only did I get the cutest Hawaiian seat covers for my car, it took 4 college students 3 tries to get them installed correctly. Hahahahaha.
On to today's madness. Today is Wednesday. And boy, is it beautiful outside. I can't believe that I get to live here in beautiful Southern California and spend most of my time outside, unless I'm in class. Aren't you jealous? Ya, I am blessed. I know. Altogether, it's a pretty good place to live, except that Orange County is so strange. Who else lives in a county where they name bands and movies after it? Which leads me to realize that I have not been adequately sharing my favorite musical artists or movies with you all. And what is a cheesy blog without a Favorites page? Ok, well instead of yakking about it, I'll just go ahead list some of my favorites right off the bat. Hmm. Billy Joel has to be one of most talented of all time. The man can rock and roll and then turn around and do Beethoven's ninth. Also, I love the late Rich Mullins for classic Christian tunes. These guys are more the favorites where I can listen to all of their albums. Most artists I can only do the songs I like. And I'll leave you with what's in my CD player right now. This is it. That's it. Email me. I'm out.

Well, it's second week so I guess I have no excuse to neglect my blog. Especially since I wrote during finals week. Anyways, here I am. Today was good. Before 11am, I had had 2 interviews. Lucky me. And I got both positions. I have been thinking a lot about my life and its direction. Trying to decide how I can be the most useful in making the world a better place. I've also been reading a lot. Mostly, Joshua and Joshua and the City. And I have been thinking a lot about the urban world and how it needs Jesus. I don't buy all of Girzone's ideas about God (i.e. i don't think that God and Allah are all the same person) but I like how he uses this picture of a man to show us what maybe Jesus was like when he was here in physical body. I'm also reading The Count of Monte Cristo and The Marx-Engels Reader for school. I'm reading the Communist Manifesto for the fifth time as a Soc major. Which is okay, but just makes it a little hard to deny that all the Soc profs are Commies. :) I know, I know. He keeps making a point in my theory class how modern Communism is not the same as classical communism; modern Communism is more of what came out of the Russian Revolution.
So, my posts are pretty long, huh? But I guess they have to be if I only post every 5-6 days. I think I must be getting tired, because I just forgot what I was going to write. Ok, well I will be back with you later. P.S. I got the cutest Hawaiian seat covers for my car!

I've been reading some interesting stuff at Re:generation. In particular, this article on busyness caught my eye. I think it's interesting how as Christians we are called to be fruitful and do good works, but I think that our humanness gets in the way and we miss the mark (incidentally, that's the definition of the word sin) by either getting obsessed with our work or getting obsessed with not working at all, and just having fun all the time. I have to say that, as a college student, life can often seem like a vacation, because there is so little actual structured time involved. I only have to technically be in class about 15-18 hours a week and the rest of my time is at my discretion. I can work, shop, play games, etc. for the rest of my day. I do choose lots of good activities, such as working out, doing bible study, and such. But it's easy to spend lots of hours doing mindless things. Honestly, the only real mindless thing I do is watch TV because I have to say that Gilmore Girls is the best written show since My So-Called Life. Anyways, I'm surfing around and I found this which I think is great. If you want to help me out, be my guest. Well, more interesting tidbits next time.
